Looking for information on Emily/Elizabeth Low(e). Her daughters marriage certificate reads Emily Low, but a picture has Elizabeth. She was married to Timothy Winders and the time of her daughters marriage they lived in Hardin Co., IL. They had moved there when Alice Winders(daughter)was about 3 years old (the year would between 1882-84). Alice married Henry Price April 14, 1896 (4 months before my great-grandmother was born). We believe the family came over from Crittendon, KY but have found no further information to verify this. Thanks for Help Liesa

Re Emily/Elizabeth Low born in Indiana 1844/45. Indiana did not record births at that time.
Timothy Winders did not appear in the 1860 Indiana census, but did appear in the 1870 Indiana census. Information contained in this huge index included the following:
20 years old, married, born KY, living Posey County, IN.
Record to be found microfilm roll 352, pg. 270.
Following reference then checked: "Index to Marriage Records, Posey County, 1847-1920, Vol. III, Letters R-Z, Inclusive." "Original Record located County Clerk's Office, Re: Request of LRobarge of 19 Jan 2001
Mt. Vernon, IN. Compiled by Indiana Works Progress Administration, 1940." [Both foregoing quotes appear on title page of the book.]
Timothy Winders married Emily HULSEY, 21 February 1874, Book C-7, pg. 107.
Hope this works for you and doesn't muddy your waters. [Since it would appear that this Emily is about 5 years older than Timothy, perhaps she actually started life as a LOW/LOWE, but had an intervening marriage.]
There was a second marriage of a Timothy Winders in Posey County and he married Charlotte J. COBLER, 13 November 1870, Book C-6, pg. 368.
