On a recent trip to Savannah, GA, I happened upon a grave of a Confederate soldier from the NC, born in Kenansville, NC. It was of Austin W. WINDERS, Co "E", 20th Regiment, NC Volunteers, 1844-1924. It is located in Laurel Grove Cemetery, North Division, Savannah, GA. There is a grave of a Margaret ?? (1836-1908) also buried there, and a P. Frederick WINDERS (1838-1896) as well, but not sure if Margaret is the wife of Austin Sr., or P. Frederick. The final grave is of a Jas. K. WINDERS, DOD 1-21-1909, aged 39 yrs.
His son is also buried there and his name was Austin W. WINDERS, M.D., Savannah, GA, b. 7-11-1878 and d. 4-9-1926.
Have taken a photo of the grave of Austin Sr., but do not have it (or others) scanned in as yet. But, anyone needing information on this person for your records, hope this helps.
